How to Pray

The Lord’s Prayer

I got asked 2 times, “How do I pray?”. I’m going to show you here really fast, how to pray.

9 “This, then, is how you should pray:

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.

Matthew 6:9-13

When we pray we should

1) Give Glory to God (Verse 10)

  1. Pour out your Heart to God (Verse 11)
  2. Ask for Forgiveness (Verse 12)
  3. Ask God to Help you (Verse 13)
  • Give Glory to God

We should let God know how holy he is and awesome. Tell him that he is great and he is amazing. Praise him and lift him up over you. Honor him.

Example: “God your so holy. Your name is so amazing and your greatness fills the heavens. You are amazing.”

  • Pour out your Heart to God

This is the act of getting everything that on your heart and mind and just giving it all the God. Tis is telling God everything that is going on in your life and maybe your praying for other people, tell God everything that is on your mind and heart. Cry out to the Lord.

Bible Prayer Example: 1 Chronicles 16:35
Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise.”

      • Gave Glory to God and pour out their hearts to him.

  • Ask for Forgiveness

People forget to do this a lot. Everyday we sin against God and Heaven. God wants us to repent. Matter in fact he won’t hear the prayers of those who have not even came to him for forgiveness. No matter how good you are, there is a chance your prayers have not been answered, because your not even saved. To be saved, you must asked for forgiveness. Go speak to a Preacher or pastor or church leader on how to be saved. Not the Catholic church through, they place people under the law and under the forgiveness of men, even know we are under grace and under the forgiveness of God. We can go right to God when we pray, not to Mary, but to Jesus. Amen on that.

Before Praying, making sure we are saved is important. So here is a simple way to understand the way to be saved.

#1. Admit your a sinner and be willing to turn from your sins (repent).

* Romans 3:23- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

#2. Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave so your sins could be forgiven.

* Romans 6:23- For the wages of sin is death [eternal separation from God]; but the gift of God is eternal life, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

#3. Call on Him and ask Him to forgive you and take control of your life. ( “You want to receive Him as Lord and Savior”.)

* Romans 10:9- If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer:
(Prayer is talking to God)

God knows your heart and is not so concerned with your words as He is with the attitude of your heart. Pray from your heart. God knows your heart. The following is a suggested prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for you forgiveness. I believe you died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite you to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow you as my Lord and Savior. In Jesus name, Amen.

NOW ITS TIME TO FOLLOW CHRIST, JESUS.

That is the first step you should take, that could be why your prayers have not been answered.

  • Ask God to Help you

Asking God is important, its why God is here, he wants us to ask him for stuff. Asking in prayer, God will bless you. What ever it is that your praying for, then ask God to help you at the end. Say your praying for an text in school, ask God to help you in that text in school. Anything and everything you pray for or on, ask God to help you in that event.

Bible Prayer Example: 1 Chronicles 16:35
Cry out, “Save us, God our Savior; gather us and deliver us from the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name, and glory in your praise.”

      • They asked God to help them by this, “Save Us”…”Gather Us”…”Deliver Us”

        • God Answers Prayers. God Saves His people who asked him forgiveness. He Gather his first chosen people Israel back to their home nation. In the 1950s, Israel became a nation again, therefore God has answer the prayer of “Gather Us”. Soon Jesus will come back and when all nations turn against Israel, then Jesus comes and deliverers Israel. Therefore he has Saved them. God answered this prayer in a time period and is still in the motion of answering it, but in due time. Half of it has been answer, this prayer was a prophecy.

Have Faith

Faith is important to have when praying. We must believe that when we pray, that God will hears our prayers and will answer them.

Believe from your heart that when you pray, your really speaking to God.

Pray in your room, away from people.

Faith- believing in the impossible to be possible and the insurance that it is down and true.

This is true, “The Prayers of God’s people are heard”. -Bible
