Love (Study of Matthew – Part 19)

We all been there. Them moments in life that we get hurt so bad. Humankind’s first reaction is to hurt the other human back. We see it all the time on the news. Someone gets killed because someone else said or did something that hurt the other person. In the religions of the world, one religion kills another because of faith backgrounds, the feelings of people get hurt. We all been there. Our brother or sister hurt us, betry us, because they told mommy and daddy. That’s human nature. To stab each other in the back. That’s hate. That’s war. That’s murder. That’s you standing before God a sinner condemned to hell.

God knows that there is hardship to come for all his faithful followers. Even people who are or might not be sheep of the shapherd could rise up against us at time’s, out of hardening of the heart. It happen in the bible, when Paul became a believer, there was christians who just didn’t want to be around Paul, the great persucutor of the christian church. You can picture in your own mind. Would you really want to be standing next to a guy that was killing christians, when you yourself are a christian? Those believers sent paul away to another part of the world. Because the hurt of people, paul became a outcast to christians. We see this in Acts 9:26.

Sometimes the human feelings can be getting in the way of some great things happening. God’s word being fullfilled. But God isn’t play a joke, he is not by no means a fool. He is alone an amazing God who see’s it all, God’s word still stay true and God used Paul as a spokesmen for his kingdom as he plan from the start. God’s faithfulness has no end. No stopping. Men’s feelings don’t allow God’s faithfullness to end. God’s is true in all time’s and faithfull always. So where does this leave us at in the “eye for an eye” topic?

See, there is clearly a war going on in the mind of believers. In the feelings area of the life of people. In our mind, that is where the devil starts at. He did it to Eve with the decieving of her mind, she knew in her mind that God said, “don’t eat”, but the devil came and said, “did he really tell you that?” That is what is called, Reverse Psychology. The devil wants something, for us to fail, for God to fail and for himself to win. He’ll say anything to you to decieve you. He will even try to tell you stuff that sounds so true. But, just as he try to decieve Jesus, we who are more then overcomers, need to promise, “Away from me Satan” Matthew 4:10.

Points back to the feelings state of the persons mind. There is a spiritual war going on. Always 24/7, yes even on Sunday. There is no rest for the devil, he travel “through the earth and going back and forth in it”, Job 1:7. He is in the business of making humans start war with each other, from big to the small tiny fights that happen between two people. He loves it. It’s how he get his power. It’s how he been living for a long time. It’s how he is active. It’s his daily bread. Jesus gave us great news in his word. We have a way to defeat the devil in our personal life.

When the fire sparks and you see the flams active. You see this amazing house that the builder built being burn to the ground. Throw water on it. Call the fire men to come and water the fire away. Call the builders to come and restore the once amazing house that you have been living it. Don’t try to put it out yourself.

Don’t go and get your own houses water hole’s and try to take on that fire. Call on God. The Builder. The restorer. The God of generations to come. Call on the great firemen. He’ll give you a fire blanket. Call and trust in Him. “Do not resist a evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone want to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles. Give to the one who ask you, and do not turn from the one wants to borrow from you.”. Matthew 5:38:42

In other words, show love, not hate. As Paul said, “but have not love, I gain nothing …. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth.”. 1 Corinthians 13:3;6
