Being Deceived (Study of James- Part 7)

Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters. 17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (James 1:16-17)

The devil is what he is, the devil. Like the expression, “we are what we eat”. The devil went against God in Heaven and his main plan is to take us out. Not to dinner, but to Hell. The devil is what the word of God (bible) calls the great deceiver. The whole meaning of life for him is the steal, kill and destroy. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. (John 10:10) He does that by deceiving us.

He gets us, when we are alone and eats us alive. That’s why there are splits in the church around the world, because people chose to not listen to God and his truth. It’s easy for evil creation to obey falsehood.

I personal have listen to his falsehood before, in fact, went up against an entire church, then an denomination. I listen to other Christians and preachers about different teaches and I was laid to go against a entire church, to find that I was wrong. The devil can use ways to deceive us with lie’s that sound so truthful. Like he tried with Jesus, when Jesus was fasting for 40 days and 40 nights. We fight daily with this great deceiver, so be careful. Remember, the devil is the great deceiver and Father of Lies.

It is clear, don’t let the devil trick you in thinking that wrong is right. I myself have fallen into his traps. I went on a debate with my own church; I grew up in and debated against them on the bible topic of salvation and giving 10%. I lost it, because I was deceived.

I can say in experience, we Christian’s can think we have all the answers, since we are saved, but we don’t. Now, I’m not saying that the bible is wrong, it’s not, it’s all truth, according to the first written manuscript, the translations are about 99% truth, sorry, can’t give a percent, I’m not God, but there are some mistranslations in the bible, mistranslations here and there, but that’s okay, God gave us his spirit of truth to understand all truth.

The point I am trying to make is as Christian’s, we have to stop boasting about things we think we know so much about. If you have pride, the devil will grab that and make it grow so big, your find yourself standing against God himself and thinking you standing for God. Think the good news flips everything, the devil can flip our lives around like nothing, if we aren’t careful. Be watchful, says the bible.

Now, how can we know for sure, if the devil or God is doing something in our life or pushing us closer to something. Verse 17, on top of the page, says that every good gift comes from GOD. When he does something in our lives, it will not change, but we will change, if we let it change us. Remember, we do nothing; it’s all God doing something in us, as long as we allow, because we do as Christian need to test everything, to make sure the deceiver is not at work.

How can I test everything?

  1. Prayer
  2. Speak to Many different denominational pastors (This way you know what is truth)
  3. Read your bible, not weekly, nor monthly, nor yearly, nor sunday(ly), but only everyday of your life. Set up a time and read it.
  4. Worship and spend time with God, can help you get closer to God. Can also help in understanding God and his word, because you take your relationship with God seriously.

Welcome to Jesus Alone Saves!

There is one focus point for this website, it’s to bring people to Christ across the world and help them became devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Who am I?

I hold a Divinity Bachelor Degree, soon I will have a Christians Leadership too and hopefully a Chaplaincy Degree. I join the Marines in 2017 during a season of my life where I was homeless and working as a manager at Walmart. I was homeless until 2019 and shortly after i enter into the financial industry where I almost became a financial advisor, but then God called me to leave Dallas, Texas and go to north Wisconsin, where I am now a utility locator and am actively trying to get a young adult, ministry launched but am having difficulty because local churches around here aren’t interested in reaching anyone. I have been told by multiple churches to go ask someone else.

So that is me, I’m a reject from the christian community, but I will not forget Jesus is the one I am serving! I say that so that people know that I understand how it feels to be rejected by the church and it’s not right, so I’m not going to reject you, I might reject your sin, but not you. So hope you join me here in exploring the plan God has for your life.
