Boasting about Tomorrow- (Study of James- Part 19)

The word of God is powerful. Why do we say we will do this or that tomorrow or next week or next year well go camping? I and you both don’t know what will happen tomorrow, we could die tonight or tomorrow or next week, or next year or 2 years from now. We don’t know our own future.

The word of God says to follow God and his way. He will lead us to where we need to be tomorrow and next year and forever on, if we just follow. We should not think to ourselves that we have it all together, because we don’t.

Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.”  Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.  Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”  As it is, you boast in your arrogant schemes. All such boasting is evil.  If anyone, then, knows the good they ought to do and doesn’t do it, it is sin for them.” (James 4:13-17)

Two years ago, I was told by God to go to New Jersey. He told me everything is taken care of, he opened the doors for the ministry to grow for me to have a way to get there to preach the Good News of Jesus Christ. Few months ago, I was saying I’ll be leaving my 18th Birthday to NJ. I was saying it because I thought, great I’m 18, I can go and everyone around me knew I was leaving. I turned 18, in November 24, 2011. About 8 weeks before, God said, “Wait”. I was upset, and I keep on saying still, “I’m leaving, I’m going to get on the bike to go or get a bus and leave”. Three months later, today, I’m here in TX, not NJ. Because, God said, “Wait”. No matter what I plan, God‘s plan will come out.

The reason I wanted to leave so bad, is because I am persecuted by my own family. Now, I don’t get beat, but they find every false reason against me, and they make fun of me for being Christian. Only stood against life and death two time’s for Christ, once on the streets, I was witnessing, and I was told I’ll get shot if I didn’t leave. I told them go for it. They ended up getting scared and leaving. Other time, I stood true to Jesus against a family member, and he threatens to kill me. Since that day, my family has found that I am a true follower of Christ and won’t back down, that is why they try so hard to see me fail. That is way I wanted to so much leave this house. But God‘s plan’s go forth. We can’t boast about anything, since it’s all for God and his doing, not ours. So if you’re boasting, please stop, it won’t bring out Christ at the end.
