Spread the love

Here are 2 verses, one from old testament and one for new testament, backing up the teaching, “we can not loss our salvation”.

Old Testament

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

New Testament

38 “For I am persuaded that not even death or life, angels or rulers, things present or things to come, hostile powers, 39 height or depth, or any other created thing will have the power to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord!” Romans 8:38-39

We’ll going to be looking at two verses, and once again find the “Who, What and Time”.

Isaiah 53:5

Read all the Passage, Isaiah 53:1-12

          • The Who, is who? Verse 1 covers this. It’s written to a people who believed the message.

          • What is this passage about? It’s an prophecy about Jesus Christ. About 500 plus years before the birth of Christ, this was a prophecy about how Christ would be killed and also why he is killed.

          • Time period. Old testament time, written by an prophet named Isaiah.

    • Okay, but how is this proving that you can not loss your salvation? You got to dig deep into it.

      • “By his Wounds we are healed”. There is no question about it. Those who believe the message of the Gospel (Verse 1) are healed (Verse 5) of their sins.

        • Dig deeper, Isaiah foretold the Gospel (Verse 1). (Not important for this sermon, but was cool to point out.)

So can you loss you salvation according to this verse? Matter in fact, once you believe in the message of the Gospel, your pretty much covered of sins. No matter how many wounds we put on our-self, it was by Jesus Christ wounds, we are heal. We have wounds, because of sin. What Jesus did is, took them wounds upon himself, so we are healed. So when we sin, Jesus receives that punishment (Verse5).

Jesus Christ died and took it all to hell, he paid in full. There is no, once you come to Christ, be all holy. Christ died for the unholy (Romans 5:6). Now deeds are something totally different. Those come because you are saved, not so you can become saved, we are saved by faith though the cross of Jesus.

Romans 8:38-39

Read Romans 8:1-39

        • This chapter is all about how and why we are saved, and that because we are saved, there is nothing that can stop us from being saved. No mater how much we can, since we are not under the law, the law does not apply to us.

        • Time period is the new testament.

        • Who is it written to? It was a letter written to Rome. But we can also say, God had written for me and you to see and read.

    • This verse lays it clear that nothing in hell, nothing in heaven, and nothing on earth, even me and you, can cause us to loss our salvation. This verse is clear, when it says nothing can separate us from God.

So according to the verses above, we find that we can not loss our salvation. Correct? Yes.

The series doesn’t end here though. Next we will see, the 2 different main biblical covenants between God and Man.
