Spread the love

Fasting is a topic many believer and teachers don’t look at much, but fasting is a topic that many believers have no clue they should very well know about and do weekly or monthly, because it’s a powerful topic, no mater if you’re a Pentecostal or Baptist. Fasting is for all Christians and it has power beyond what we can ever think.

Fasting plays out in God’s plan for mankind for saving them. Jesus fasted 40 days and nights before he started his ministry on earth for a reason. Fasting before his ministry started is like him getting ready for this ministry that would be life change for all generations. It’s him getting ready before this great work that is about to take place starts. Daniel did a fasted for some prophecies to be fulfilled by God. Jesus spoke about his people fasting between him going up to heaven and him returning to earth. God’s plan in saving mankind has fasting within it.

What is fasting? That question has in my own mind all my life. I never knew what exactly it was. Fasting is putting off this or that for a time period. You can say, you stop eating meat for a time period. Maybe you love drinking coffee each day, you put off coffee for a while and drink something else. Maybe you don’t eat anything at all, and just drink water. Fasting is a way of putting off what you love so much, and devoting yourself to God.

Devoted to GOD? Let’s face it, we are sinful people. Deserve to go to hell. We deserve to not even know there is a God. Out of his love he made himself known to us in our heart and mind. He came down here and died for us on that cross. He gave us the rights to call him Father. He wants and desires devotion with us.

Your relationship with God is a personal relationship with God. It’s not a you, God and the rest of the world. It’s just you and God. God wants devotion time between you and him. So when we fast, we put off something for him. So say we put off lunch for a week, and we just read the bible during that time period. But we aren’t to go and tell people, “oh I’m so hungry because I was reading the bible today at lunch”. No, you keep that between you and God and bible says he will reward and bless you for doing that.

I had done something like this some time ago. Each day I got off from work and went to the church. I went and had God time at church before I did anything. Reason I did that was because I wanted a new job. I ended up getting a phone call and ended up getting a new job that is by far better than the last. God rewarded and blessed me in that, I still devote myself to God and put off something or someone for GOD each day. God keeps blessing me because of it.

God wants to be devoted by YOU. Will you take God in for that Devotion and be blessed by him? You want to see what God can do in your life? It starts right there at the cross. It starts with you giving up something for him each day. It’s start with giving up yourself for him. Fast away your life each day and follow him. What is your choice?

Matthew 6:16-18

16 “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 17 But when you fast, put oil on your head and wash your face, 18 so that it will not be obvious to others that you are fasting, but only to your Father, who is unseen; and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

Welcome to Jesus Alone Saves!

There is one focus point for this website, it’s to bring people to Christ across the world and help them became devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Who am I?

I hold a Divinity Bachelor Degree, soon I will have a Christians Leadership too and hopefully a Chaplaincy Degree. I join the Marines in 2017 during a season of my life where I was homeless and working as a manager at Walmart. I was homeless until 2019 and shortly after i enter into the financial industry where I almost became a financial advisor, but then God called me to leave Dallas, Texas and go to north Wisconsin, where I am now a utility locator and am actively trying to get a young adult, ministry launched but am having difficulty because local churches around here aren’t interested in reaching anyone. I have been told by multiple churches to go ask someone else.

So that is me, I’m a reject from the christian community, but I will not forget Jesus is the one I am serving! I say that so that people know that I understand how it feels to be rejected by the church and it’s not right, so I’m not going to reject you, I might reject your sin, but not you. So hope you join me here in exploring the plan God has for your life.
