Life of Temptation (Study of James- Part 6)
“No one undergoing a trial should say, “I am being tempted by God.” For God is not tempted by evil, and He Himself doesn’t tempt anyone. 14 But each person is tempted when he is drawn away and enticed by his own evil desires. 15 Then after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin, and when sin is fully grown, it gives birth to death.” James 1:13-15
The word of God, says so much about sin and temptation. Temptation is something that you want to do, but know you can’t do, because it going against something or someone in your own personal life. In the bible, book of James, God says that temptation could become a sin.
How can temptation become a sin?
First, we are tempted by what? The answer is, by our own evil desires.
Next, once that desire is in us, it says conceived (in the verse above), I think of a woman, when she has her baby in her, but the bible says that when our desires are in us, just like a baby grows in a woman, that desire will grow in us, but if we let it grow, and we act on it, then it is a sin.
Last, once we have allowed that temptation to grow in us, allowed it to become a sin and did not repent, then we will die. Temptation is like a disease, which kills us.
In the beginning, God made man perfectly, there was no sin in them. God told them you can eat from any tree they see, but don’t eat from this one tree in the middle of the garden. The devil came and tempted Eve, wife of Adam, to eat from the tree. Eve was tempted, because she listened to the devil and because of it, sin came into the world and then Adam went and had some of same thing Eve had. I personally don’t know why, you can eat from any tree, but this one, and they choose the one tree that lead to death.
Because of what Adam and Eve did, because of that desire, that temptation that grew, because she listened to it and obey it, rather than God. Today millions of people are entering Hell. Why? The answer, sin went on into every generation. Sin sends us to Hell.
Man Messed up BIG time. God provided a Solution to man messing up. This solution is this…
Plan of Salvation
JesusChrist, fully God in the form of man, came to the earth, for one purpose, to die on a cross, for the sins of the world. He lived a sin free life (he was the perfect person). There was nothing you could charge against him. He was killed for doing good in a world that does bad. Don’t worry, he knew he’ll be killed; it was his planed, before he was even born into this world. Jesus says if you follow me (him) and not this world, then I (he) shall give you life. After Jesus came back to life and because he came back to life, he can give life to any one that asks.
