To Teachers/ Preachers/ Pastors- (Study of James- Part 15)

When I was reading the book of James, very slowly and carefully, to get all the information, I came across something that scared me. I highlighted the verses and put the word “Scary” over them. These are the verses below, in which I highlighted.

Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers; because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.” (James 3:1-2)

I’m not going to lie, when I read this, I begin to think if I wanted to keep on preaching. The reason why is because I have preached false teachings before. I have lead people away from God. I was a false teacher all my life, until 2 years ago, but even then I got lost in some stuff that I should have never got involved in. Surly God/Jesus, whom is God in the human form, will have stuff to say to me when I meet him face to face. But the big question is still on my mind, should I keep on preaching? Yes, I will, God told me 2 years ago, “Go preach this Gospel.” I will do so until I die. Also, because it says, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”. (Philippians 1:6)

God has a reason for who he has preaching and why he chosen people, to be in different parts of the body, in different age’s. God got me preaching at age 16, now I’m older, not to boast but to show, God has who he wants to have as preachers. We need to kneel before him and follow his “Will”, for our lives.

Now, am I going against the verse? Not at all. The reason James wrote that verse is to tell preachers of all types, to watch out, of what comes out of our mouths. Words are more power than anything else in this world. Words have power between life and death.

We need to, when we preach, pray and ask God to speak through us. The very week that I came to Christ, I didn’t know bible that well, I went to church every Sunday to learn and learn and learn, not for nothing else, just to learn. I read the bible on my own almost every day. I don’t read every day, I want to, I still don’t read every day, but I desire to. But, I would take every chance I could, to go preach in the park, school, house to house and to the streets. Before I went though, I would get on my knees in my room and ask God to speak through me and to make away for me to reach people for Christ. I got to see people come to Christ, once in a whole, once a group of like 10 people, teenagers, bow their lives before the Lord in my school.

As teachers of Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we need to preach what is truth to what the bible says and not to what our church or domination says. We will answer to God, if we fear man over God, we need to fear God and keep what is true. I clearly have not been the best preacher. I have failed in my life, but I want to warn everyone, who is or is going to become a preacher, be careful, what you preach and pray for God to speak and not you. The reason I say that is because, we might have Christ in us, but we are still fully evil man that deceived man around us and deserve to be sent to Hell. All good that people see in us, is really Christ himself that lives in our life.

We truly have no right to preach, we are letter from God, that he has wrote and sent to people, God is speaking, not us. We need to understand that. That is the most basic thing to understand, but it’s the hardest thing for any preacher to take in.

To sum up everything

  1. Stop preaching what is of man’s mouth and speak what is of God’s word. God’s words are those giving life and our words mean nothing.
  1. There isn’t one preacher in this world, not even Paul, who is prefect in everything preached, so be careful, of everything you say.
  1. Walk the talk is the meaning of it all. Don’t preach something you don’t do. If you don’t give 10%, then don’t go preach 10%. If you say bad words, don’t go preach about not saying bad words. Don’t be a hypocrite. Preach the way you live. And like me, if you preach something, which you know you are wrong in doing, and then tell people what’s up. I do, you and everyone else needs to also. No man is perfect. “… We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.” (James 3:1-2)

I’m Keith

Welcome to Jesus Alone Saves!

There is one focus point for this website, it’s to bring people to Christ across the world and help them became devoted followers of Jesus Christ.

Who am I?

I hold a Divinity Bachelor Degree, soon I will have a Christians Leadership too and hopefully a Chaplaincy Degree. I join the Marines in 2017 during a season of my life where I was homeless and working as a manager at Walmart. I was homeless until 2019 and shortly after i enter into the financial industry where I almost became a financial advisor, but then God called me to leave Dallas, Texas and go to north Wisconsin, where I am now a utility locator and am actively trying to get a young adult, ministry launched but am having difficulty because local churches around here aren’t interested in reaching anyone. I have been told by multiple churches to go ask someone else.

So that is me, I’m a reject from the christian community, but I will not forget Jesus is the one I am serving! I say that so that people know that I understand how it feels to be rejected by the church and it’s not right, so I’m not going to reject you, I might reject your sin, but not you. So hope you join me here in exploring the plan God has for your life.
